2 Timothy 1:6 – “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.”
Overview
There are times in life when what’s inside of us begins to settle—faith cools, passion fades, boldness weakens. But God’s instruction to Timothy echoes to every believer today: Stir Up! Don’t let your calling lie dormant. Don’t let your gift go unused. Don’t let the fire die down.
You’ve been given something powerful—a deposit of divine potential—and God expects you to keep it stirred. The anointing you carry, the calling on your life, and the gifts you’ve received are not meant to stay still. They’re meant to flow, ignite, and produce fruit for the Kingdom.
Stir Up Your Spiritual Gifts
Your gifts aren’t just for you—they’re for the body of Christ and the glory of God.
- Every believer has been given a gift. (1 Peter 4:10)
- Gifts grow stronger through use, not neglect.
- When you stir up your gifts, you unlock purpose and power.
- The Spirit is ready to operate through you—fan the flame!
Stir Up Your Faith and Passion
Faith is like a fire—it must be fed and stirred regularly to keep burning bright.
- Passion grows cold when left unattended.
- Regular time in God’s presence reignites your spiritual flame. (Psalm 63:1–2)
- Surround yourself with people who stir your spirit, not drain it. (Hebrews 10:24–25)
- Worship, prayer, and the Word are fuel for the fire. (Jeremiah 20:9)
Stir Up Boldness and Obedience
When fear whispers “stay silent,” the Spirit urges, “Stir up and speak out.”
- Don’t bury your boldness—God didn’t give you a spirit of fear. (2 Timothy 1:7)
- Step into assignments that scare you—it stirs courage.
- Be obedient in small things and your faith will grow.
- The world needs what God placed in you—don’t withhold it.
Conclusion
Don’t wait for someone else to stir you up—take responsibility for the fire within you. What God placed in you is too valuable to remain still. You are anointed, appointed, and equipped. Stir up your gifts. Stir up your faith. Stir up your voice. The world needs your fire.
Action
- Spend time this week intentionally stirring your spiritual flame—through worship, Scripture, or using a dormant gift.
- Speak aloud this declaration: “I will not grow cold. I will not remain silent. I will stir up the gift of God within me!”
